Bangkok: Jaravee Boonchan delivered an impressive performance, leading the first round with an 8-under-par 64 at the 'Singha-NSDF Ladies Open 2026,' a tournament with a prize pool of 1.5 million baht, held at Windsor Park and Golf Club (Course A-B), par 72, 6,533 yards, on July 22, 2026.
According to Thai News Agency, the Ladies Professional Golf Association of Thailand is organizing the 'Singha-NSDF Ladies Open,' which spans from July 22-24, 2026. Supported by Singha Corporation, the National Sports Development Fund, the Sports Authority of Thailand, and Windsor Park and Golf Club, the 3-day event is a 54-hole stroke play tournament. After two days of 36 holes, the field will be cut to the top 50 players and ties, excluding amateur golfers, for the final round. Players scoring more than 16 over par (88) each day will not advance to the next round. The winner in the professional golfer category will receive a prize of 200,000 baht. A total of 132 female golfers are participating, including 107 professionals and 25 amateurs.
In the first round, 27-year-old Jaravee Boonchan from Bangkok, the first Thai woman to secure a KLPGA title, demonstrated superior form. She achieved an 8-under-par 64 in the morning session, starting at hole 10. Her scorecard boasted 8 birdies on holes 11, 16, 17, 1, 5, 7, 8, and 9, without any bogeys, placing her in the lead. Chanel Avaricio, a professional golfer from the Philippines, and 18-year-old amateur Napopjira Lueasaratha from Chonburi are tied for second place, each scoring 5 under par 67.
Jaravee Boonchan, currently ranked 154th in the world, commented on her performance, expressing confidence in her consistent drives and improved accuracy with her irons. She noted the course conditions were favorable, with soft greens allowing for aggressive plays towards the flag. Jaravee also shared her optimism about the growing presence of Thai players in the golf scene and expressed hope for increased sponsorship to further develop local talent.
Other notable performances included Pro Best-Parinda Photikhand from Khon Kaen, Pro Praew Nontarak from Lampang, Pro Fai-Chakansim Khambon from Khon Kaen, Pro Bow-Nattarika Sensai from Bangkok, and Meva Helaina Schmidt from the Philippines, all scoring 4 under par 68, tying them for fourth place.
