JAS Eyes 2026 FIFA World Cup Broadcasting Rights

Bangkok: A prominent brokerage firm suggests that JAS may be interested in acquiring the broadcasting rights for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to Thai News Agency, Kasikorn Securities Public Company Limited published an analysis of JAS (Jasmine International Public Company Limited) on June 2, 2026, stating that JAS is likely to acquire partial broadcasting rights for the World Cup in partnership with content partners. The estimated cost is approximately 688.5 million baht, sufficient to reach the break-even point.

The analysis also noted that missing out on broadcasting the World Cup could result in JAS being the biggest loser, potentially leading fans to resort to illegal streaming and piracy, and decreasing the value of its Premier League, which has a subscriber base of 1.73 million and generates approximately 3.1 billion baht in subscription revenue.
