Bangkok: "Jaset" has initiated an urgent mobilization of machinery and manpower to restore the Pua district. Early this morning, efforts began with the deployment of water trucks to clean affected houses. Mr. Jetseth Thaiseth, Deputy Minister of Interior, emphasized that immediate action is being taken to address the aftermath of the flooding. Meanwhile, the Department of Public Works and Town Planning is preparing a comprehensive strategy for flood management, covering stages before, during, and after the flood, to provide timely public assistance.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Jetseth Thaiseth, along with the Department of Public Works and Town Planning, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), and local administrative organizations, is coordinating efforts to deliver urgent support to those affected in Pua District, Nan Province. The recovery mission focuses on expediting the cleanup and restoration of areas impacted by the recent flood. Trucks and machinery are actively involved in removing debris, waste, and other materials accumulated in the community, while water trucks are deployed to clean roads and public areas.
Mr. Jetseth has directed officials and relevant agencies to prioritize immediate actions, emphasizing the importance of cleanliness, obstacle removal, and the full utilization of available resources. He instructed that in cases where machinery or equipment is lacking, prompt coordination with nearby areas should be carried out to maintain the momentum of the recovery mission.
Today's operations are concentrated in the sub-districts of Sila Laeng and Woranakorn, where continuous efforts are underway to clear flood-borne items and restore essential facilities. Director-General Mr. Pongnara Yenying has instructed all provincial public works offices to align with the directives of the Minister of Interior and collaborate with provincial governors and local agencies to prepare for potential heavy rainfall and flooding.
Provinces are tasked with inspecting flood protection infrastructure to ensure operational readiness, and coordinating with local authorities for swift public assistance. Inspection of construction projects is also required to ensure they do not hinder water flow, with a prepared list of machinery available to support provincial tasks.
Provinces must immediately prepare manpower and resources upon the arrival of water, utilizing machinery from local contractors. In the aftermath, machinery should be deployed for cleanup, debris removal, and damage assessment to facilitate rapid recovery.
