Dallas: England, in champion form, started their World Cup campaign with a 4-2 victory over Croatia in their Group L match at Dallas Stadium, USA. The "Three Lions," a fan favorite and former World Cup champion, faced Croatia, the 2018 World Cup runner-up, in their opening game.
According to Thai News Agency, England took the lead 1-0 through a penalty from Harry Kane in the 12th minute. Croatia equalized 1-1 with a goal from Martin Baturina in the 42nd minute. England regained the lead 2-1 when Declan Rice's corner kick was headed in by Kane, marking his 10th World Cup goal and equalling England's record previously held by legendary striker Gary Lineker.
Croatia then equalized 2-2 in stoppage time of the first half (45+5 minutes). In the 47th minute of the second half, Petar Musa scored to give England the lead again, 3-2, through Jude Bellingham. They sealed the victory in the 85th minute through substitute Marcus Rashford.
The game ended with England winning 4-2 against Croatia.
