Kla Tham Party Allocated Two Hours for No-Confidence Debate Amidst Bhumjaithai Concerns

Bangkok:"Attakorn" has disclosed that the Kla Tham Party has secured a two-hour slot for the upcoming no-confidence debate, asserting it will not impact the Bhumjaithai Party.

According to Thai News Agency, Attakorn Sirilatthayakon, a Member of Parliament for Chachoengsao and spokesperson for the Kla Tham Party, explained that the request for participation in the no-confidence debate was based on their number of MPs, which entitles them to participate. He emphasized that this would not affect the Bhumjaithai Party, as Kla Tham is not currently part of the government.

Attakorn highlighted that this decision was reached during an initial meeting, despite some disagreements. He stressed the party's right to participate in the debate and clarified that the debate would reflect the intentions of the Kla Tham Party, not those of other parties.

When questioned about the specific targets or ministries to be discussed during the debate, Attakorn indicated that it would depend on the participants and their views on the performance of the 18 ministers. He noted that members were not obliged to debate extensively and could address issues gradually.

Addressing concerns about potential conflicts with the Bhumjaithai Party, due to rumors of Kla Tham possibly joining the government, Attakorn reiterated that Kla Tham is not currently part of the government. He underscored the party's right to express opinions, given their representation of 12 percent of MPs in parliament.

Regarding the by-election for the Member of Parliament seat in Sa Kaeo Constituency 3, Attakorn mentioned that the party is still deliberating whether to field a candidate to replace Mr. Surasak Chingnaworn, a former MP of the Kla Tham Party who passed away. A decision is expected to be finalized on November 2nd in Sa Kaeo Province, where the Kla Tham Party will conduct the funeral rites.

Attakorn also noted that he had a brief conversation with the Chingnawan family, who expressed confidence in Mr. Surasak's work and a desire to continue his legacy, although detailed discussions have not yet occurred as the family is still in mourning.
