Krabi Authorities Seize 160,000 Methamphetamine Pills After High-Speed Chase

Krabi: In a high-stakes operation, Krabi authorities intercepted a vehicle transporting narcotics, successfully seizing 160,000 methamphetamine pills. Special operations officers from the Krabi City District Administration engaged in a dramatic pursuit, targeting a pickup truck driven by drug suspects. The chase culminated on Phetkasem Road in Thap Prik Subdistrict, Krabi City, where the officers shot at the vehicle's tires, forcing it to stop and allowing for the seizure of the illicit drugs, firearms, and a quantity of crystal meth.

According to Thai News Agency, the early morning operation on June 4, 2026, was the result of a planned sting operation. An undercover agent had arranged to purchase methamphetamine from a suspect, identified by the pseudonym "Mr. A," who was linked to a drug network in Trang Province. The transaction was set to occur in Krabi Province. However, upon reaching the predetermined location, Mr. A detected the presence of law enforcement and attempted to escape in his pickup truck.

The intense pursuit took the special operations unit onto Phetkasem Road, specifically the outbound lanes in Moo 2, Thap Prik Subdistrict. The officers strategically disabled the suspect's vehicle by shooting at its tires, causing it to veer off course and come to a halt by the roadside. This decisive action led to the successful apprehension of the suspect and the confiscation of the narcotics and weapons, marking a significant victory in the fight against drug trafficking in the region.
