Bangkok: The lawyer representing socialite Khao Pood has submitted additional evidence of a 116 million baht money transfer to investigators in the case concerning actress Nana Raibina.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sawas Charoenphol, the lawyer for Khaopood Smithinan, also known as “Hi-so Khaopood,” met with investigators at the Economic Crime Suppression Division (ECSD) for over five hours this morning. Following the meeting, he revealed that he provided the additional information and evidence as requested by the investigators. He noted that one of the 17 victims who filed a complaint against Nana Raibina also gave a statement today, but details were kept confidential to protect the integrity of the investigation.
The documents submitted consist primarily of money transfer records from Khao Pood’s clients, particularly concerning a corn transaction that involved a total transfer of 116 million baht. Investigators seek more detailed information on each transfer period. Mr. Sawas also mentioned that he represents two other clients among the 17 victims. He commented on the argument by Nana’s lawyer, Mr. Saiyut Phengbunchu, who claimed that this is not a fraud case, stating that all information must be transparently provided to the investigators for a comprehensive understanding.
Police Colonel Nitichot Penjamras, Deputy Commander of the Economic Crime Suppression Division, stated that further testimony from Khao Pood is necessary to strengthen the case file, as some issues still require additional information. The decision on issuing a summons to Mr. Prinya Intachai, Nana Raibina’s husband, will depend on the completeness of the victim’s testimony and evidence. A summons will be issued immediately if deemed necessary.
