Bangkok: "Pipat and Siripong" inaugurated the M6 Bang Pa-in - Pak Chong expressway today, marking its first day of operation with free access. The new expressway section connects the motorway to the Northeast, with five toll booths now operational to facilitate smooth entry and exit. This development aims to ease congestion on the heavily trafficked Phahonyothin and Mittraphap roads. The ultimate objective is to have the entire 196 km route fully open by the New Year 2027.
According to Thai News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Mr. Pipat Ratchakitprakarn, led the opening ceremony of the trial service for the additional section of the Bang Pa-In - Nakhon Ratchasima Expressway No. 6 (M6). This section spans approximately 110 kilometers, extending from Bang Pa-In to Pak Chong, and is accessible from the Bang Pa-In toll plaza in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. The expressway will be open to the public free of charge every Friday from 12:00 PM to Sunday, 12:00 AM, offering an alternative travel route from Bangkok and its surrounding areas to Nakhon Ratchasima and the Northeast region. The long-term goal is to open the entire 196-kilometer expressway for free, 24-hour service by the New Year holiday in 2027.
