Bang Pa-in:The M6 motorway section between Bang Pa-in and Hin Kong is now open until October 11, offering an alternative route to help travelers avoid flooded areas.
According to Thai News Agency, the government has facilitated this travel option by opening the M6 motorway section in both directions. This initiative, which is available from today until October 11, 2026, or until the flooding situation improves, follows the policy and directives of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul.
Ms. Ploytalay Laksmisangchan, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, stated that the Department of Highways, Ministry of Transport, through the Intercity Expressway Division, has initiated a trial service on Intercity Expressway No. 6 (M6), specifically the Bang Pa-in - Hin Kong segment. This move aims to offer an additional travel option to avoid routes impacted by the flooding.
The trial service on the M6 motorway began at 6:00 PM today (October 6, 2026) and will continue until 12:00 AM on October 11, 2026, or until conditions improve. The Department of Highways will closely monitor the situation to ensure effective route management and minimize the impact on public travel.
Ms. Ploytalay also advised that since the M6 motorway is still undergoing preparations before its full opening, the public should plan their journeys carefully, exercise extra caution, and follow traffic signs and instructions from officials to ensure safety.
