Police at Sena Police Station in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province arrested Mr. Sanya, also known as Mr. Lek or Pa Daeng, aged 66, after requesting the court's permission to issue an arrest warrant for fraud. Mr. Sanya was arrested while he was fleeing. This follows the case of Phra Khru Worawat Khemakorn, aged 68, the abbot of a temple in Ban Krathum Subdistrict, Sena District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, who hung himself and wrote a letter to a well-dressed middle-aged man who drove up to him and approached him before offering to make merit with the temple. He tricked the abbot into lending 650,000 baht to the temple's relatives and disappeared, which caused him stress and led to the tragic incident on October 20. Pol. Col. Chotiwat Lueangwilai, Commander of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Police, revealed t hat after Phra Khru Worawat Khemakorn hung himself to death in the temple, it was because Mr. Sanya came to trick him into lending 650,000 baht and tricked the abbot into believing that he would come to be a co-host of the Kathin robe offering ceremony. He would bring the money he borrowed and the money he was going to donate to the robe offering ceremony on October 27. However, after receiving the money, the abbot called Mr. Sanya and asked for the money he had borrowed. Mr. Sanya told the abbot that he would find it for him. However, Mr. Sanya turned off his mobile phone, making it impossible for the abbot to contact him. He became stressed and hung himself before leaving a handwritten letter about what had happened. After the abbot passed away, he held a meeting and ordered the investigator to issue a summons for Mr. Sanya. He left the summons with Mr. Sanya's wife, who was renting a room in Suphan Buri Province. However, because the incident was a heartbreaking case for Buddhists, he ordered the investiga tor to urgently collect evidence. which was submitted to the court for the court to approve an arrest warrant, leading to the arrest of Mr. Sanya while wearing a blue helmet, riding a black motorcycle with maroon stripes on route 321, Malai Man Road, in the area of ??Song Phi Nong District, Suphan Buri Province. The police officers therefore identified themselves and showed the court warrant to the accused to see and acknowledge before taking him into custody. During questioning, Mr. Sanya admitted that he had borrowed money from the monk, but not up to 650,000 baht. He had already paid back some of the money to the monk and had been talking to him the whole time. The reason he did not answer the phone was because his phone was broken, so he could not contact the monk. As for the fact that he would co-host the Kathin ceremony, he said that it was true. He had already given some of the Kathin offering envelopes to the monk. As for the money he received from the monk, he used it all to buy lottery tickets. Tod ay, Mr. Sanya claimed that he would turn himself in, but was arrested by the authorities first. Mr. Sanya admitted to the fraud charges. As for the other temples that Mr. Sanya had deceived and behaved in this way, Mr. Sanya said that he did it, but he could not remember which temples. The reporter tried to ask if he wanted to say anything to the abbot. Mr. Sanya refused to say anything but told the police to light incense and tell the abbot to wait for him and he would follow him. He was then taken to the investigators for questioning to proceed with the case.
