Bangkok: MCOT is moving forward with its New Gen Creator project to cultivate a new generation of creators, aiming to build a new media ecosystem for MCOT and contribute to the development of a new generation of personnel to sustainably drive Thai society in the digital age.
According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Yada Kasayapanan, Acting President and CEO of MCOT Public Company Limited, presided over the certificate presentation ceremony for interns participating in the New Gen Creator program. This program provides knowledge in producing content for online platforms, which will be beneficial in driving future digital business.
Dr. Yada stated that the idea originated from the large number of students who intern at MCOT each year in various departments. This, coupled with the desire to see Channel 9 become a station that seamlessly connects content from television to the diverse online platforms in the digital age, is what MCOT currently lacks: fresh ideas and concepts from young people. This led to the creation of this project.
For the first year, seven student interns from all departments participated in the program. They created content in various fields, including mass media, honest product sales, and trending stories, in their respective strengths. Experienced MCOT staff provided guidance and training, enhancing their skills in fundamental content creation, copyright, and platform algorithms.
Dr. Yada concluded by saying that the first year marks the beginning of a serious effort to develop MCOT's content for the digital realm. This will involve integrating new ideas from younger generations. She therefore invites students to intern in their chosen fields and then take this opportunity to join MCOT's New Gen Creator program. This will not only help drive content on digital platforms but also create a new media ecosystem for MCOT and contribute to the development of a new generation of personnel who will sustainably drive Thai society in the digital age.
