Bangkok: The Meteorological Department revealed that the Northern and Central regions will continue to experience summer storms, thunderstorms, strong winds, and hail. The Southern region will see more rain.
According to Thai News Agency, the North and Central regions will continue to experience summer storms, with thunderstorms, strong winds, and hail, as well as lightning in some areas, and heavy rain in some areas of the North. People in these areas are advised to be careful of the dangers of summer storms and heavy rain. They should avoid routes with recurring flooding problems, especially low-lying areas where short-term flooding may occur. They should also avoid open areas, under large trees, unstable structures, and billboards. They should also be more careful when organizing outdoor activities during the Songkran Festival. Farmers should prepare to prevent possible damage to agricultural products and livestock, and take care of their health during the changing weather conditions. This is because a high-pressure area or moderately cold air mass from China is spreading down to cover the Northeast of Thailand and the South China Sea, along with easterly and southeasterly winds covering the upper part of Thai
land.
The South is expected to see more rain as the easterly and southeasterly winds covering the Andaman Sea, the South, and the Gulf of Thailand are starting to get stronger. The waves in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea are approximately 1 meter high. In areas with thunderstorms, the waves are higher than 2 meters. Sailors in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea are advised to avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms.
Weather conditions affecting dust accumulation during this period indicate that dust/smog accumulation in the upper part of Thailand is at a good to moderate level with a tendency to remain stable due to increased rainfall in the said area.
