Bangkok, July 5 - The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain in some areas of the Northeast and East. People in these areas should be careful of the dangers of heavy to very heavy rain. As for Bangkok and its vicinity, thunderstorms are expected in 80% of the area, with heavy to very heavy rain in some areas. The Meteorological Department forecasts the weather for the next 24 hours. The monsoon trough passes through the North and upper Northeastern regions, entering a low-pressure cell in Laos and upper Vietnam, coupled with the southwest monsoon blowing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand, which is getting stronger. This will cause more rain in Thailand and some areas to have heavy rain, with some areas in the Northeast, Bangkok and its vicinity, and the Eastern region to have very heavy rain. People in the aforementioned areas should be careful of the dangers of heavy to very heavy rain and accumulated rain, which may cause flash floods and forest runoff, especially on hill sides near waterways and lowlands. For waves in the upper Andaman Sea, they are moderate with waves 1-2 meters high. For the lower Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, waves are approximately 1 meter high. In areas with thunderstorms, waves are higher than 2 meters. Sailors are advised to sail with caution and avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms. Bangkok and its vicinity will experience thunderstorms in 80 percent of the area, with heavy to very heavy rain in some areas.
