Bangkok: The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) has approved the postponement of the TGAT and TPAT examinations at the Thai-Cambodian border. This decision impacts seven provinces where the exams were scheduled to take place from December 13-15.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Surasak Panjaroenvorakul, the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, cited the tense situation along the Thai-Cambodian border as the reason for the postponement. The MHESI, in collaboration with the Council of University Presidents of Thailand (CUPT), deliberated on the matter and agreed to reschedule the TGAT/TPAT2-5 exams in the affected areas. The provinces impacted by this decision include Trat, Chanthaburi, Sa Kaeo, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket, and Ubon Ratchathani. This measure is aimed at ensuring the safety of students and associated personnel amid anticipated border tensions.
The Minister further mentioned that the CUPT is currently reviewing a new schedule for the exams in these seven provinces. A resolution is expected to be reached by this evening. Meanwhile, in other areas not affected by the border tensions or the flood-affected southern provinces, the TGAT and TPAT exams will proceed as planned from December 13-15.
