Bangkok: “Sabida-Chaichanok” visited the area to give encouragement to officials and volunteers. The Minister of Culture and the Minister of Digital Economy visited the area to offer encouragement to officials and volunteers performing their duties and to greet the people who came to pay their respects to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Sabida Thaiset, Minister of Culture, and Mr. Chaichanok Chidchob, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, visited and offered moral support to officials and volunteers at the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA)’s public pick-up and drop-off points, food service points, and first aid stations at the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and the Ministry of Public Health. Additionally, they visited the Royal Thai Police’s clothing service points and screening points for public convenience. They also took the opportunity to meet with members of the public who had come to pay their respects to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother. Executives from the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society were also present at the ceremony at Sanam Luang.
Ms. Sabida Thaiset, addressing the somber occasion, stated that the people are united in mourning and expressing their deepest gratitude. The Ministry of Culture, through the Department of Religious Affairs, has organized the “Volunteer Ribbon Making Symbol of Mourning” activity to express condolences and commemorate the grace of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, following the Bureau of the Royal Household’s announcement of her passing on October 24, 2025. This initiative, running from November 5, 2025, to February 2026, offers civil servants, cultural personnel, religious network partners, and the general public the opportunity to participate in creating their own ribbons as a tribute to Her Majesty, expressing their deepest loyalty. Ribbons crafted in this project come in various styles and meanings, such as the all-black crossed ribbon, double-layered black and white ribbons, and those decorated with pearls or white flowers, all meticulously crafted to reflect the loyalty and mourning of the Tha
i people.
Furthermore, the Department of Religious Affairs has extended an invitation to provincial cultural offices nationwide, religious networks, schools, partner agencies, and the general public to participate in the volunteer ribbon-making activity. This initiative aims to offer merit to His Majesty the King and promote the virtues of “gratitude” and “volunteerism” in all sectors of society. The ribbons will be distributed to citizens at various locations, including BTS stations, shopping centers, Sanam Luang ceremonial grounds, government agencies, and educational institutions. This activity not only serves to express benevolent condolences but also reflects the spirit, love, and loyalty of all Thai people, united in remembering His Majesty’s benevolence and continuing His Majesty’s aspirations for goodness.
