Bangkok: The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives is making strides in expanding market opportunities for cooperative products, bringing a variety of unique goods to the Parliament building.
According to Thai News Agency, the Ministry, in collaboration with the Department of Cooperative Promotion, is hosting a showcase and sale event under the theme "Outstanding Cooperative Products" at the Parliament building's Sappaya Sapa Station. The event, which runs until July 2, 2026, features a selection of high-quality products from cooperatives and farmer groups, highlighting the Ministry's ongoing efforts to support these organizations.
Ms. Piyarat Tiyapairat, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, and Mr. Nirun Multhida, Director-General of the Department of Cooperative Promotion, along with other officials, inaugurated the event. The booth, situated on the 1st floor, Zone C around the Emerald Pool, offers top-quality products directly from producers and cooperative members. Attendees, including esteemed members of parliament and civil servants, have the opportunity to purchase these products at fair prices.
The products are categorized into four main groups. The Fresh Fruits and Premium Beverages category includes mineral water durian from Buriram province, pineapples from Ratchaburi, fragrant coconuts from the Wat Phleng Large-Scale Fragrant Coconut Growers Cooperative, and award-winning Phu Thap Chang coffee from Loei province. These offerings are designed to appeal to consumers with high purchasing power, providing direct access to quality goods without intermediaries.
The Department of Cooperative Promotion aims to enhance proactive marketing channels, addressing pricing mechanism issues and boosting sales for the cooperative movement. This initiative also aims to elevate local products to an international level, aligning with the department's mission to strengthen the cooperative movement and support the grassroots economy under the "Thai Helps Thai" policy. The event runs until July 2, 2026, offering a platform for cooperatives to connect with potential buyers.
