Bangkok: The Ministry of Culture is inviting the public to participate in nationwide activities to commemorate His Majesty the King's birthday on July 28, 2026. The activities, organized by the Ministry of Culture, aim to express gratitude for His Majesty's benevolence and to uphold his royal aspirations.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Sabida Thaiseth, Minister of Culture, announced that the celebratory activities will be held both centrally and regionally, with the cooperation of all affiliated agencies. These events are designed to allow civil servants, personnel, and the general public to demonstrate their devotion and participate in merit-making activities as a tribute to His Majesty. The activities also aim to promote His Majesty's goals of alleviating suffering, promoting well-being, and creating benefits for the nation.
The events will be conducted throughout July, with a significant religious ceremony scheduled for July 16, 2026, at the National Gallery. The Department of Religious Affairs will organize this event, which will include participants from five religions, to foster unity and express loyalty to His Majesty.
On July 22, 2026, the Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture will host commemorative activities at the Ministry of Culture, starting with a blessing ceremony at the Wisit Cultural Building. This will be followed by a pledge of allegiance ceremony at the National Art Gallery. An exhibition commemorating His Majesty will also be displayed, featuring royal portraits, offerings, and information on his biography and royal activities.
The Office of Contemporary Art and Culture will also host an event on July 22, 2026, titled "Art United, Volunteer Spirit for Temple Development in Honor of His Majesty the King" in Bangkok. The event invites artists, staff, and the public to engage in activities that develop religious sites and promote community involvement.
Furthermore, the Ministry has instructed Provincial Cultural Offices in all 76 provinces to coordinate with various sectors to organize simultaneous activities, including displaying portraits, holding blessing ceremonies, and conducting volunteer activities. These efforts aim to unify people across the country in expressing their loyalty and gratitude.
On July 24, 2026, the Bunditpatanasilpa Institute will hold a celebration at its campus in Nakhon Pathom Province, with participation from faculty, staff, students, and the public to offer blessings and show loyalty to His Majesty.
Ms. Sabida emphasized that these events are crucial for uniting Thai people in doing good for society, preserving cultural values, and fostering community strength, which is essential for sustainable national development. She encouraged citizens to engage in the activities and apply His Majesty's royal initiatives to their lives to build a more virtuous and unified society.
