Bangkok:The Ministry of Interior has granted approval for a land surveying project set to commence in 2027, covering 69 provinces nationwide. This initiative aims to expedite the issuance of land titles to the public, with a clear stipulation that areas such as protected forests and mountainous regions will not be included in the land titles.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, the Minister of Interior, has signed an official announcement regarding the provinces designated for land surveys and mapping for the issuance of land title deeds in the fiscal year 2027. This directive, issued under Section 58 of the Land Code, has been published on the Royal Gazette website.
The land surveying project for 2027 is a significant mission of the Department of Lands, focusing on transforming assets into capital and generating economic opportunities. The project targets 69 provinces, spanning almost every region of the country. The northern region includes 14 provinces, the Northeast comprises 20 provinces, the Central and Western regions cover 18 provinces, the Eastern region includes 5 provinces, and the Southern region encompasses 12 provinces.
The announcement specifies that the land title issuance will exclude areas designated as permanent forest zones or lands legally prohibited by the government. These include national forest reserves, national parks, public utilities, mountainous areas, a 40-meter radius around mountains, and areas with slopes exceeding 35%, to prevent encroachment and ensure the sustainable preservation of natural resources.
