These projects span road, rail, water, and air routes, aiming to achieve tangible results and improve the quality of life for citizens while boosting the economy and enhancing national competitiveness.
The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the government’s policy, under the leadership of Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, to address urgent national issues while laying the groundwork for future development. The Ministry has tasked the OTP with integrating plans across affiliated agencies to rapidly tackle public concerns. As part of its 23rd anniversary, the OTP has been tasked with five urgent missions: expediting the disbursement of the 2026 budget to stimulate the economy, promoting the Southern Special Economic Zone Act for a new economic hub, advancing the Landbridge project, developing a common ticketing system for seamless travel, and optimizing traffic management, particularly during construction and festivals.
Mr. Phiphat also expressed gratitude to those contributing to the advancement of Thailand’s transportation system, reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment to creating a seamless, safe, and convenient travel network that centers on public benefit and economic opportunity.
Mr. Jirarot Sukonrat, Deputy Director-General and Acting Director-General of the OTP, noted that the office will fast-track its policies to lay the groundwork for the future transportation system. This includes pushing the Landbridge project, studying airport expansions in Chumphon and Ranong, and developing plans to integrate road, rail, and sea transport for seamless mobility. The OTP is also focusing on studying rail and water logistics to reduce industrial transport costs, enhance border trade, and apply technology in infrastructure planning.
In recognition of dedication to the national transportation agenda, Mr. Phiphat awarded the “Khamroblak Suraswadi” scholarship to children of government officials and OTP staff demonstrating academic excellence.
