Bangkok: A 21-year-old man suffered serious injuries after falling off a bridge while riding his motorcycle, distracted by his GPS.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident occurred at approximately 7:00 AM as the young motorcyclist, identified as Mr. Tachapon, was traveling on Thep Ratana Road, also known as Bangna-Trat Road. The accident took place at kilometer 37, on the inbound route towards Chonburi, in Bang Pakong District, Chachoengsao Province. Emergency personnel discovered a white motorcycle leaning against the edge of the overpass at a curve, indicating the point from which Mr. Tachapon had fallen.
Mr. Tachapon recounted that he was returning to Chonburi and was unfamiliar with the route, prompting him to rely on GPS navigation. While crossing the bridge, he diverted his attention to the map on his device, causing him to hit the edge of the bridge and subsequently fall to the ground below. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and transported him to the hospital for treatment.
