MRTA celebrates its 32nd anniversary, responding to the needs of city people

32 years of MRTA 'Go Green Grow Together', continuing the mission of developing the Metropolitan Rapid Transit network to meet the needs of urban people in a sustainable way. The Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) celebrates its 32nd anniversary, reinforcing the concept of 'Go Green Grow Together' by continuing its mission to develop and expand the mass rapid transit network in the city area to be more comprehensive, connecting public transportation systems such as rail, wheel and boat, to enhance seamless travel for city dwellers, along with operations with care and responsibility for the environment and society in all dimensions, through the construction process of environmentally friendly electric train projects, 'Green Construction', to create a clean energy mass rapid transit system, 'Green Transportation', as well as campaigning to create environmental awareness, 'Green Office', for MRTA personnel and communities along the electric train project route, aiming for the goal of creating a su stainable green society, 'Green Society' for everyone. They also joined in the activity of coloring pots for planting air-purifying trees to pass on the concept of 'Go Green Grow Together' to the public. In terms of the mission to supervise the construction of the electric train project, the MRTA has also increased the strictness of supervision in terms of safety and measures to reduce impacts on the environment and communities continuously. For the Pink Line extension project, the Si Rat - Muang Thong Thani section, the civil works are 69.99% complete, the electric train system is 49.95% complete, and the ove rall progress is 63.25% (as of the end of July 2024). It is expected to open for service in 2025. The Purple Line project, the Tao Poon - Rat Burana (Kanchanaphisek Ring Road), has 38.22% complete civil works (as of the end of July 2024). It is expected to open for service in 2028. The Orange Line project (West) Bang Khun Non - Thailand Cultural Center section is preparing to enter the land ownership process and survey of various public utilities. It is expected that the civil works and electric train system construction will be completed. It can be opened for service in 2030. For the Orange Line (East) project, the section of Thailand Cultural Center - Min Buri (Suwinthawong), where the civil works have been completed, the MRTA has urged the concessionaire to expedite the procurement of electric trains and installation of the electric train system as soon as possible so that it can be opened for service before 2028. The MRTA has also been assigned by the Ministry of Transport to study the details of the suit ability of the Brown Line project, the section of Krarai - Lam Sali (Bung Kum), additionally regarding the guidelines for integration with the Expressway System Project, Stage 3, Northern Line of the Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) to be included in the project approval proposal. In addition, the MRTA is committed to promoting the development of the urban mass transit network in 4 regional provinces: Chiang Mai, Phuket, Nakhon Ratchasima and Phitsanulok. Currently, the MRTA has submitted the results of the comparative study of project implementation models and various investment models for the Ministry of Transport to consider the most appropriate option before presenting it to the Cabinet for consideration. MRTA also affirms its intention to develop the organization in all dimensions comprehensively by continuously implementing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities to reduce impacts and create satisfaction for all stakeholder groups.
