My Chemical Romance’s ‘The Black Parade’ Finally Reaches No. 1 on Billboard 200 After 20 Years

Baku:New York My Chemical Romance's album 'The Black Parade' has soared to the number 1 position on the Billboard 200 chart for the first time, nearly 20 years after its initial release. This achievement marks the longest wait in music history for an album to reach the top spot.

According to Thai News Agency, the album's resurgence to the top of the charts was driven by the release of a reissued version and a 20th-anniversary concert tour. This resulted in the album selling 78,000 units in one week, surpassing the new album by pop star Olivia Rodrigo, which sold 64,000 units, and propelling 'The Black Parade' from number 139 to number 1.

Originally released in 2006, 'The Black Parade' received critical acclaim and significant sales but never reached the top spot due to competition from the soundtrack album of the TV series Hannah Montana. The recent leap to number 1 is the biggest since Taylor Swift's 'Fearless (Taylor's Version)' in 2021. The album's success demonstrates the enduring appeal of My Chemical Romance's music and the loyalty of their fanbase, attracting both original and new listeners.

This milestone not only breaks the record previously held by Toby Keith's '35 Biggest Hits', which took 15 years and 9 months to reach number 1, but it also highlights the cultural impact and timelessness of My Chemical Romance's work. The band continues to inspire new generations of artists and fans alike, cementing their legacy in the music industry.
