Phimai: Phimai Police Station, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, has arrested a group of Burmese teenagers involved in a fight. The incident stemmed from mutual dissatisfaction after they looked at each other, resulting in a physical altercation. Efforts by friends to intervene and stop the brawl led to further chaos.
According to Thai News Agency, the Phimai Provincial Police, in collaboration with several agencies, executed a comprehensive search in a village within the Phimai District. This action was prompted by the fight among Burmese teenagers at the village entrance during the night of February 20, which alarmed local residents. The village is home to thousands of foreigners, predominantly Burmese, who rent accommodations there.
The search concluded with the arrest of a male Myanmar worker identified as the instigator of the fight. The investigation revealed that the conflict arose from an exchange of unhappy glances, escalating into a physical confrontation. Friends attempted to mitigate the situation, contributing to the disorder. Both participants admitted to their involvement. Consequently, the authorities imposed fines for "fighting and creating a nuisance in a public place." The individuals were instructed to reconcile by shaking hands and pledging to avoid future disturbances, under the threat of immediate deportation.
