Bangkok: A lucky couple in Nakhon Ratchasima won 12 million baht in the lottery. They revealed that the number 640 caught their eye, and they bought only two tickets for 180 baht, not expecting to win the first prize, but just hoping for a win with the last digits.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Phitsanu Warin, 39, a general laborer, and his wife, Ms. Panadda Suwannarat, 38, a private sector employee, met with investigators at the Nakhon Ratchasima City Police Station to file a police report after winning the first prize in the government lottery on September 16, 2026, with the number 730640, winning a total of 12 million baht with two tickets.
Ms. Panadda revealed that she ordered the lottery tickets through a friend in a lottery vendor group who sent her pictures to choose from. When she saw the last three digits, 640, she liked them and decided to buy two tickets for 180 baht. She didn't expect to win the first prize, only hoping for a prize for the last three digits. When the lottery results were announced, she discovered her numbers matched the first prize. She then called the seller to verify if she had actually won. After receiving confirmation, she called her parents first before going to collect the tickets in Khon Kaen province. She then returned to file a police report to confirm her ownership of the tickets.
Regarding the 12 million baht, Ms. Panadda stated that she intends to use it for business ventures, paying off debts, saving for her education, and also giving a portion to her parents and making charitable donations as opportunities arise.
