“Nano” and “Best” Secure First-Day Golds for Thailand at 33rd SEA Games

Chonburi: “Nano” Watcharakul Limjitrakorn and “Best” Methasit Boonsena made headlines as they clinched gold medals for Thailand on the opening day of the 33rd Southeast Asian Games.

According to Thai News Agency, “Nano,” a 19-year-old Thai national athlete and a first-year student at Kasetsart University, captured the first gold medal for Thailand with a flawless dance routine. Competing in the dance category, she achieved a remarkable score of 7.900 points, outshining her competitors. Nicole Alicia from Singapore secured the silver medal with 7.180 points, while Puthawan Chanthakamanee from Laos earned the bronze with 1.680 points.

Meanwhile, “Best” Methasit Boonsena, a 22-year-old Thai cyclist, triumphed in the downhill mountain biking event. He skillfully navigated the challenging course at Khao Kheow Zoo in Chonburi Province, finishing with a winning time of 2:37.856 minutes. His victory marked another gold for the Thai national team on the first day of the Games, which features 40 gold medals up for grabs.
