Chonburi: Nawaporn Suntriphas and Nattharika Sensai are set to lead a strong contingent of 112 Thai female golfers at the 8th Thai LPGA event, the "Singha-NSDF Chonburi Ladies Championship 2026," scheduled to take place at Treasure Hills Golf Club from August 5-7, 2026. This tournament, boasting a prize pool of 1.5 million baht, promises a challenging and competitive environment for both professional and amateur golfers. According to Thai News Agency, the Ladies Professional Golf Association of Thailand (LPGA) is organizing this significant event with support from Singha Corporation, the National Sports Development Fund, the Sports Authority of Thailand, and Treasure Hills Golf Club. The tournament will be conducted as a 3-day, 54-hole stroke play competition. Following the first two days covering 36 holes, the field will be narrowed down to 50 players and ties, excluding amateurs, for the final round. Players scoring more than 16 over par (88) on any day will face disqualification. The professional category winner is set to receive 200,000 baht. The tournament features notable participants, including Nawaporn Suntriphas, the current number one player after winning two Thai League Championships in 2026, and Nattharika Sensai, ranked fourth in the money list and runner-up in the previous tournament. Other prominent golfers like Orakanok Soisuwan, Pattanan Tikul, and Ornarin Satyabunphot add to the competitive roster. Nawaporn expressed her determination to maintain her top ranking, highlighting her previous experiences at Treasure Hills as part of her preparation strategy. She plans to involve her father in her caddy duties for better coordination, especially in preparation for upcoming international events. Nattharika Sensai, reflecting on her previous performance at the course, emphasized the importance of strategic planning, particularly in executing shots that maximize scoring opportunities. Her runner-up finish in the last tournament has bolstered her confidence, and she is gearing up to deliver an impressi ve performance at Treasure Hills. Orakanok Soisuwan, returning from the off-season, is excited to compete again, with plans to participate in the KLPGA qualifying tournament and subsequent events in Korea, Taiwan, and China. While not entirely familiar with the Treasure Hills course, she is eager to assess the conditions and perform to the best of her ability. The tournament's first round will commence with the first group teeing off at 7:00 AM from holes 1 and 10.
