Neuer Announces Retirement from German National Team Again

Berlin: Manuel Neuer, the veteran goalkeeper for Bayern Munich and the Bundesliga champions, has announced his retirement from the German national team for the second time. This decision follows the elimination of "Die Mannschaft" in the round of 32 at the 2026 World Cup.

According to Thai News Agency, Neuer had initially retired from international football in August 2024 following Germany's loss to Spain in the quarter-finals of Euro 2024. However, he made a comeback to the national team in May of this year after being recalled by coach Julian Nagelsmann for the 2026 World Cup, where he was confirmed as the starting goalkeeper.
