Nonthaburi:The Nonthaburi police chief has initiated disciplinary measures against a police officer involved in an altercation at a karaoke bar, resulting in his permanent transfer from his prior position.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident involved a Police Sergeant from the Commando unit who lodged a complaint on November 1 with the Pak Kret Police Station. The Sergeant alleged that he was assaulted and left unconscious by a Police Corporal and his accomplices at an entertainment venue in Nonthaburi Province on October 31, 2026.
The Sergeant has provided investigators with photographic and video evidence of the incident to support legal proceedings. Pol. Maj. Gen. Thammanoon Chaowavanich, Commander of the Nonthaburi Provincial Police, has mandated decisive action, both disciplinary and criminal, against those responsible.
A disciplinary committee has been appointed, and the involved officers have been transferred to the Nonthaburi Provincial Police Operations Center to ensure a transparent and unbiased investigation. The Royal Thai Police spokesperson emphasized the importance of discipline within the force and assured that any officer found violating the law will face appropriate disciplinary and criminal actions to uphold public trust and the organization's reputation.
