Northern Thailand to Experience Temperature Rise Amid Morning Fog

Bangkok: The Meteorological Department has reported an anticipated rise in temperatures by 1-2 degrees Celsius across northern Thailand, accompanied by morning fog. Despite the increase, the upper North will continue to experience cool to cold conditions. Residents in these regions are advised to remain vigilant about their health amid the evolving weather patterns. Light rain is forecasted for certain areas in the lower South, while Bangkok and its vicinity will also see a temperature rise of 1-2 degrees Celsius.

According to Thai News Agency, the department forecasts that temperatures in upper Thailand will rise by 1-2 degrees Celsius over the next 24 hours, with morning fog persisting. While the cool to cold weather will linger in the upper North, the Northeast, Central, East, and upper South will also experience cooler mornings. Residents in these areas should take health precautions and exercise caution while traveling through fog-prone areas, as well as be mindful of fire hazards due to the dry conditions. This is attributed to a weakening high-pressure area or cold air mass currently affecting upper Thailand and the South China Sea.

In the lower southern region, light rain is expected in some areas due to the weak northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf of Thailand and southern regions.

Additionally, from December 4-6, 2025, upper Thailand may experience rain and thunderstorms in some areas. The southern region is expected to see increased rainfall and occasional heavy rain due to a new high-pressure system or moderately cold air mass advancing from China. This system has already reached southern China and is expected to extend over upper Vietnam and upper Laos, leading to further changes in weather patterns. An easterly wind current will bring additional moisture, impacting the Lower Northeastern Region, Eastern Region, Central Region, Gulf of Thailand, Southern Region, and Andaman Sea.

In Bangkok and surrounding areas, residents can expect some morning fog, with temperatures set to rise by another 1-2 degrees Celsius. Minimum temperatures are predicted to be between 23-25 degrees Celsius, with maximum temperatures reaching 33-35 degrees Celsius.
