Bangkok: The Prime Minister revealed that after a three-hour meeting with the National Security Council (NSC), the decision was made to suspend the Thai-Cambodian Peace Declaration. He requested a Cabinet meeting before making an official announcement, but did not provide a timeframe for the suspension.
According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Anutin Charnvirakul, addressed the National Security Council meeting and discussed the various measures to be taken following the discovery that four Thai soldiers stepped on a landmine at Huai Tamaria, Sisaket Province.
Reporters tried to ask if there would be any countermeasures at the meeting. The Prime Minister said he would attend the Cabinet meeting first, after which he would make an official announcement.
When reporters asked again whether the Thai-Cambodian Peace Declaration would be cancelled, the Prime Minister briefly stated that it would be suspended.
