Bangkok: A golden opportunity for Thai youth to open the door to the world of space technology and global science has arrived at the "National Science and Technology Fair 2026" (NST Fair 2026). Held under the theme "Intelligence in Science for a Sustainable Future," the event is taking place at Halls 9-11, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, running from today until August 23, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The event was inaugurated by Professor Dr. Yoschanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, alongside Dr. Sirilak Pruksapitikul, Deputy Director of the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA), who invited young attendees to explore the "GISTDA" exhibition booth, aiming to ignite their learning potential through cutting-edge space innovations.
According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Sirilak Pruksapitikul emphasized that this year's highlights in the GISTDA zone have been crafted to inspire and provide fun through five special activity zones, offering children a comprehensive experience of being a space explorer.
Zone 1, titled LANDMARK Snap and Share with the Giant Astronaut, greets visitors with a giant astronaut, a popular photo spot where attendees can strike a pose, take a picture, and share it on social media.
Zone 2, SPACE ARTIST - Unleash Your Imagination from Space, provides a platform for children to add color to real satellite photographs, turning scientific data into artistic expressions.
Zone 3, SPACE TREASURE HUNTER, allows participants to become space treasure hunters, engaging in activities that simulate satellite control and encourage the search for hidden GISTDA logos in satellite images.
Zone 4, EARTH EXPLORER - Explore the Smart Sandbox, highlights an interactive experience where children can learn about topography through a smart sandbox that uses Hypsometric Tints to display varying altitudes in real-time.
Zone 5, REAL-TIME SATELLITE STATION, offers an immersive experience with a live satellite receiving station, including demonstrations of satellite control systems and signal reception, inspiring future careers in science and technology.
Visitors are encouraged to collect stamps throughout the event for a chance to win prizes. The NST Fair 2026 promises to be an enlightening journey for families and friends, fostering a passion for science and technology.
