One suspect arrested in car bomb in front of police flats

One suspect arrested in the car bomb incident in front of the police flats at Bannang Sata Police Station, Yala Province. He was the last person to use the car used in the incident, which was a vehicle belonging to the Tharatho Subdistrict Administrative Organization. The incident occurred when an improvised explosive device was planted in a car in front of a police officer housing flat at Bannang Sata Police Station, Bannang Sata District, Yala Province, on the morning of June 30, 2024. After the incident, the officers inspected the car used by the perpetrators and found that it was an official car belonging to the Than To Subdistrict Administrative Organization. From further investigation, they found a suspicious person involved with the car, suspected of being involved with a group of violent perpetrators in the area, namely Mr. Mustafa, aged 27, an assistant civil engineer at the Than To Subdistrict Administrative Organization. He was therefore invited for questioning under martial law to the 41st Rang er Regiment Task Force in Wang Phaya Subdistrict, Raman District, Yala Province. From the initial questioning, it was found that Mr. Mustafa was the last person to use the car. After that, Mr. Maropee, aged 45, was the one who called Mr. Mustafa to ask for the car keys and learned from Mr. Mustafa that Mr. Maropee was the last person to take the car out of the Than To Subdistrict Administrative Organization. Currently, they are checking the information and tracking down Mr. Maropee to provide information in case of suspicion of involvement in the incident. Security sources in the southern border provinces reported that intelligence is targeting Mr. Apinant Satoh and Mr. Arong as the assemblers of the bomb. Both are wanted suspects in security cases who are currently at large. Mr. Apinant Satoh has been seen moving in Than To district, while Mr. Arong has been seen moving in the area between Bannang Sata and Krong Pinang districts.
