Open intensive marketing courses to push for more GI products both domestically and internationally.

Nonthaburi, The Deputy Director-General of the Department of Intellectual Property has opened an intensive marketing training course for GI entrepreneurs, expecting it to help create added value for GI products and drive the community economy sustainably. He is delighted that 206 GI products have been registered, creating value for the country's economy of over 71 billion baht/year. He is moving forward to promote more quality control of Thai GI products. Ms. Kanitha Kangsuanich, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Intellectual Property, revealed that Mr. Napintorn Srisanpang, Deputy Minister of Commerce, assigned the Department of Intellectual Property to continue strengthening GI entrepreneurs by organizing activities to build marketing knowledge for entrepreneurs of geographical indications (GI) products, opening intensive marketing courses to increase sales and teaching techniques for presenting products through Story Telling to win over consumers, between, 1 August 2024 at Novotel Future Park Rangsit Hotel. However, from such policy, the Department of Intellectual Property responds to the government's economic policy to increase the value of community identity products and distribute income to local areas with geographical indications (GI). Currently, the Department of Intellectual Property has registered 206 GI products, creating value for the country's economy of more than 71,000 million baht per year, along with promoting quality control of Thai GI products to build confidence among consumers, as well as expanding marketing channels for Thai GI to accelerate economic stimulus and generate sustainable income for producers and entrepreneurs at the community level. 'Activities in the event include training, which this time focuses on training and practical work, in addition to the theories that have been laid down as a foundation, so that GI entrepreneurs can apply them to their products professionally. Knowledge is provided on interesting topics such as storefront arrangement and display arrang ement for booths, organizing sales promotion to suit the product, creating a story for GI products through story telling, communicating with customers, building a brand through trademarks, and designing packaging that meets consumer needs,' said Ms. Kanitha. However, currently, we also provide a service to take photos of the participants' products to create a catalogue for further use, etc.' In addition, in the middle of next month, the Department of Intellectual Property will also organize a training to build marketing knowledge for entrepreneurs of Geographic Indication (GI) products in online marketing to build knowledge for GI entrepreneurs who are interested in online markets.
