Bangkok: Opposition parties have opted not to support the Pullman Hotel after the hotel requested the suspension of an event where opposition members planned to expose corruption allegations against senators. Parit Wacharasindhu, a party-list MP and deputy leader of the People's Party, was unable to sponsor the event at the Pullman Hotel, choosing instead to relocate to the Parliament building. He has prepared alternative arrangements and is considering opening registration for additional venues due to the larger size of the hall.
According to Thai News Agency, Parit addressed the upcoming seminar on alleged Senate collusion, initially scheduled for Saturday, August 29th, at the Pullman Hotel. The hotel informed parliamentary officials of their decision to postpone the Leader of the Opposition's forum. Parit stated that they had anticipated such a situation and had already made backup arrangements with the Parliament building, ensuring the schedule remains unchanged.
When questioned about the possibility of the event at the Pullman Hotel not proceeding, Parit explained that he always sought confirmation from venues before publicizing events. He emphasized the importance of respecting each venue, as they are not involved in any wrongdoing. Despite receiving a last-minute notice of postponement from the Pullman Hotel, Parit acknowledged the hotel's right to make such a decision and reiterated their preparedness with a backup plan.
In response to inquiries regarding the hotel's reasoning for the postponement, Parit recommended contacting the hotel directly. He stressed his commitment to respecting the hotel's rights and avoiding any potential damage to its reputation. He confirmed that events are only publicized with full confirmation and that the relocation to the Parliament building will allow for reopened registrations due to the larger room capacity.
