Bangkok: Paethongtarn Shinawatra, former Prime Minister and leader of the Pheu Thai Party, made an appearance at the party headquarters to participate in the weekly MP meeting. Her visit comes in the wake of Thaksin Shinawatra’s recent imprisonment. Despite the circumstances, Paethongtarn maintained an indifferent demeanor as she was welcomed by key party figures including Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office Jiraporn Sindhuphrai, along with Deputy Ministers of Finance Chulaphan Amornvivat and Paopum Rojanasakul.
According to Thai News Agency, reporters on site attempted to inquire about the strategies and measures to be discussed in the meeting aimed at encouraging Pheu Thai Party MPs. However, Ms. Paethongtarn chose not to respond verbally, offering only a nod to the media instead.
Further questions directed towards her regarding the morale of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra following his prison sentence also went unanswered. Before proceeding to the meeting room, Ms. Paethongtarn took a moment to engage with party supporters who had gathered to express their backing.
Additionally, it was noted that Ms. Paethongtarn was accompanied by her husband, Mr. Pitak Suksawat, during her visit to the Pheu Thai Party headquarters.
