Pha Muang Task Force Seizes 200,000 Methamphetamine Pills in Instant Noodle Cups

Mae sai: The Pha Muang Task Force has successfully intercepted a drug smuggling operation, seizing hundreds of thousands of methamphetamine pills concealed inside instant noodle cups.

According to Thai News Agency, personnel from the 3rd Cavalry Company, Taksin Task Force, Pha Muang Command, were deployed to the area of Ban Pa Sang Ngam, Village No. 6, Koh Chang Subdistrict, Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai Province. The task force encountered a group of 2-3 suspicious individuals carrying sacks while walking through a cornfield. Upon the officers' attempt to identify themselves and conduct a search, the individuals abandoned the sacks and fled the scene.

A thorough search of the crime scene revealed two sacks covered with black plastic bags. Inside each sack were 10 black instant noodle cups marked with Chinese characters. Each cup contained approximately 5 bundles of methamphetamine pills, equating to 10,000 pills per cup. This amounted to around 100,000 pills per sack, culminating in a total seizure of 200,000 pills.

Following the seizure, officials have sent all confiscated items for further inspection. An investigation is underway to track down the individuals involved in this smuggling operation for legal prosecution.
