Bangkok: 'Pharadon' has decided to move forward with a legal case against 'Yingcheep iLAW', citing damage to the party and the presentation of outdated evidence. The party has not yet deliberated on pursuing legal action against any other individuals.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Paradorn Prisnanantakul, who serves as the Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, addressed the situation involving Mr. Yingcheep Atchanon. Mr. Yingcheep, the director of the Internet Law for the People (iLAW) project, had disclosed evidence suggesting collusion within the Senate, implicating several ministers, including Mr. Paradorn himself. Mr. Paradorn indicated that the evidence and allegations were not current. He mentioned that the party is still considering whether to file a lawsuit against Mr. Yingcheep this week.
In response to Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva, MP and leader of the Democrat Party, who expressed concerns about the lawsuit being a SLAPP (Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation) case, Mr. Paradorn clarified that the lawsuit is not intended as a SLAPP. He emphasized that the actions of Mr. Yingcheep have caused harm not only to individuals but also to the party, necessitating legal proceedings. Mr. Paradorn also noted that discussions on the possibility of filing additional lawsuits have not yet taken place.
