Pickup Truck Accident in Kamphaeng Phet Leaves 2 Dead, 8 Injured

Kamphaeng phet: A pickup truck transporting migrant workers overturned on a rain-slicked highway, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to eight others. The local police have launched an urgent investigation to identify and prosecute those responsible for the tragic incident.

According to Thai News Agency, the accident occurred around 8 PM last night on Highway 1116, connecting Tha Raenae-Nong Daen in Na Bo Kham Subdistrict with Kosamphi Subdistrict in Kosamphinakhon District, Kamphaeng Phet Province. The black four-door Toyota Revo, bearing the license plate ?? 37 Amnat Charoen, was found overturned and severely damaged at the scene. The vehicle, carrying 10 illegal migrant workers, lost control due to slippery conditions and a potentially unfamiliar driver, leading to its crash.

Two male foreign nationals were ejected from the truck during the accident and subsequently crushed, resulting in their deaths. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene, leaving behind the injured passengers. Rescue workers from the Na Bo Kham Subdistrict Administrative Organization and the Khao Phap Rescue Foundation were on the scene to assist the injured and transport the deceased to Kamphaeng Phet Hospital. Authorities are conducting autopsies to determine the identities of the migrants and are investigating their origins as part of a broader probe into illegal immigration.
