NBM, the concessionaire of the Pink Line MRT project, Krarai - Min Buri section, clarified the case of some doors being opened at Lat Phrao Station (PK18). Northern Bangkok Monorail Company Limited (NBM), the concessionaire of the Pink Line MRT project, Kraray - Min Buri section, clarified the case of some doors of the Pink Line MRT train opening at Lat Phrao Station (PK18), stating that at 7:01 a.m., train number 10 was moving from Lat Phrao Station (PK18) to Nonthaburi Civic Center Station (PK01). The train staff heard an unusual noise, similar to an object hitting the train several times. They immediately pressed the control button to stop the train and notified the Control Center (CCR) of the incident. An inspection found that the train door had caught a passenger's bag stuck on the outside door of the last car still on the platform. The control room then ordered the train staff to open the door that was holding the bag by using the train key to open the door, but they were unable to open the door. The control room then ordered the train staff to cancel the automatic train control system and take control of the train themselves, preparing to drive the train back to Lat Phrao Station (PK18) to open the door and remove the bag that was stuck. When the train staff took control of the train by themselves, but due to miscommunication with the control room, they opened the train door on the platform where the bag was stuck. During the repair, the control room saw the train door open via the CCTV camera before the train staff moved the train back into the station. They quickly contacted the train staff to close the train door immediately and had the bag stuck in the door removed. They also adjusted the train system to the automatic system. After that, the train service resumed as usual. The company would like to apologize to all passengers who were affected by the incident and did not receive any inconvenience during their travel. The company will improve and amend the communication process between the train sta ff and the train control center to have clearer steps and will arrange for station staff to increase the verification before moving the train and opening the train door to confirm the procedure for maximum safety. In addition, the company will emphasize and instruct all employees on duty to be prepared to handle any incidents in every case to create safety and confidence for all passengers. If any unusual incidents are found on the train, passengers can press the bell button (Passengers Intercom Panel) to immediately notify the train control center. Source: Thai News Agency
