Phnom Penh: The Prime Minister revealed the success of his official visit to Cambodia, impressed by the honorable welcome from the Cambodian government, discussed cooperation in suppressing online crimes, call centers, smog, and labor development. It is expected that in the middle of this year, a new Friendship Bridge will be opened in Sa Kaeo Province, and a JCR meeting will be held to follow up on solving problems in all dimensions.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, spoke about the results of the official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of official relations between Thailand and Cambodia during 23-24 April 2025, saying that she was impressed by the honorable welcome of the Cambodian government, including this year being the 75th anniversary of Thai-Cambodian relations, which both countries are ready to continue this good relationship.
In addition, Thai and Cambodian leaders witnessed the signing of 7 joint agreements, such as the signing of an agreement on the environment, PM2.5 problem management, and no burning. In the past, Thailand has exchanged experiences and practices on these issues, including suppressing online crimes. Relevant agencies of both countries will work closely together and cooperate in intelligence and information exchange between each other.
The Prime Minister also stated that in the middle of this year, the Thai-Cambodian leaders will jointly chair the opening ceremony of the first Thai-Cambodian Friendship Bridge at Ban Nong Ian, which is located in Tambon Tha Kham, Aranyaprathet District, opposite Ban Stung Bot, Tambon Poipet, Bantian Meanchey Province, Cambodia, in an official manner. They will also hold an informal meeting with the Prime Minister and ministers (Joint Cabinet Retreat: JCR) at the Thai border in Sa Kaeo Province to follow up on the progress of the discussions and to follow up on cooperation between Thailand and Cambodia on all issues.
