Bangkok: Police are cautioning the public about fraudulent online complaint pages that falsely claim to accept police reports, highlighting that the only legitimate channels for such reports are the 1441 hotline and the official website.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Maj. Gen. Siriwat Deepo, Deputy Spokesperson of the Royal Thai Police, disclosed that an investigation has been launched following reports of a group of fraudsters creating fake online complaint channels. These imposters are using images of well-known individuals and public figures to lend credibility to their bogus platforms, leading to the deception of the public and potential victimization through scams aimed at obtaining personal information or stealing assets.
The Royal Thai Police stress the importance of utilizing only the sanctioned channels for filing online police reports: the AOC hotline at 1441 and the website at www.thaipoliceonline.go.th, both of which are operational 24/7.
The public is advised to remain vigilant and to disregard any other online channels, including applications, Facebook pages, Line accounts, or other platforms, that purport to accept police reports or assist with legal cases, as these are all fraudulent. The police urge individuals not to be misled to protect themselves and their property from potential harm.
