Poo Manthana Handed Suspended Two-Year Sentence for Defamation Against Lawyer Kung

Bangkok: The Bangkok South Criminal Court has sentenced veteran actress Poo Manthana Himathongkam to a two-year prison sentence, suspended for two years, after she was found guilty of defaming Ms. Amnuayporn, also known as Lawyer Kung. In addition to the suspended sentence, Poo Manthana was fined 80,000 baht and ordered to pay 100,000 baht in damages.

According to Thai News Agency, the court's decision also requires Poo Manthana to publish a notice in a newspaper for seven consecutive days to address the defamatory actions against Lawyer Kung. Furthermore, she is required to cover legal fees amounting to 10,000 baht. The case was initiated when Lawyer Kung sued the actress for defamation by publication, leading to the court's verdict.
