Popular TV Host Nana Raibeena Arrested on Fraud Charges

Bangkok: Nana Raibeena, a well-known 45-year-old television host, is facing significant stress after her arrest at home due to concerns about her children, work, and the possibility of not securing bail. This development follows an early morning operation by the Economic Crime Suppression Division (ECD).

According to Thai News Agency, officers from the ECD, led by Pol. Col. Krit Woratat, arrested Nana Raibeena at her residence in the Phra Khanong area. She faces charges of fraud and violating the Emergency Decree on Fraudulent Loans from the Public, stemming from several complaints filed by victims. Following her arrest, she was taken to the ECD headquarters in the Chatuchak District for questioning.

In a recent development, lawyer Saiyut Pengbunchu, known as “Lawyer Pacquiao,” presented evidence, including photos and a letter, confirming Nana’s presence at an event. Nana had surrendered to the Central Investigation Bureau on December 1st, aware that an arrest warrant might be issued. She expressed her intention to cooperate and provide information beneficial to the case, but her surrender was not accepted at that time.

Lawyer Saiyut disclosed that Nana Raibeena was taken to the Central Investigation Bureau to record her arrest and provide a statement before being remanded to court. A bail bond of 500,000 baht has been prepared for submission in court. He further revealed that Nana is under considerable stress, worrying about her child, securing bail, and her work responsibilities.
