Chonburi: Pork prices have seen a gradual increase, with a recent rise of 2 baht per kilogram in the Northeast and Chonburi regions. The upward trend in prices indicates that further increases might be on the horizon.
According to Thai News Agency, the Chonburi Swine Farmers' Cooperative has implemented a 2 baht increase in the farm-gate price of live pigs, effective July 22. The cooperative has committed to updating any further changes in pricing. Meanwhile, the National Swine Breeders' Association has reported that the farm-gate live pig prices for week 30/2026 as of July 22, 2026, reveal a market supply that has not met demand over the past week. There are indications of improvement over the next 3-4 weeks, with expectations of aligning with production costs and achieving profitability.
Upcoming discussions at the Subcommittee on Swine Production Costs meeting will address environmental production costs, including farm supervision and animal health expenses such as vaccinations for Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD SAT1). By July 27, 2026, the farm-gate price of live pigs in the Northeast rose by 2 baht from the previous base, reaching 68-70 baht/kg. In contrast, the Western region recorded prices of 66-68 baht/kg, the Eastern region 68-71 baht/kg, the Northern region 72 baht/kg, and the Southern region 74 baht/kg.
