Bangkok: "Prasert" is set to engage with Islamic boarding schools and religious schools to address the ongoing insurgency issues in the southern region. The initiative aims to resolve misunderstandings and improve collaboration with the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Center (SBPAC).
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Prasert Chantharawongthong, the Minister of Education, has announced plans to visit Islamic boarding schools, known as Pondok, and Islamic religious schools, referred to as Tadika, in the southern border provinces. The goal is to address any misunderstandings and enhance cooperation. Following a meeting at the Ministry of Education, representatives from these schools have been integrated into the SBPAC to fulfill educational responsibilities and promote understanding.
Mr. Prasert emphasized that he will personally visit the area to conduct thorough investigations, ensure that issues are being resolved, and evaluate the educational curriculum's impact. The initiative underscores the importance of education in addressing the southern insurgency problem and fostering a harmonious relationship between different communities.
