Prime Minister Acknowledges Audio Clip Involving Deputy Minister in Exam Cheating Scandal

Bangkok: The Prime Minister has acknowledged listening to an audio clip allegedly involving a mysterious deputy minister in local government exam cheating. He declared that the matter must be investigated and that they will meet this afternoon at Government House.

According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul commented on the audio clip exposing irregularities in the local government examination and the claim of collecting 350,000 baht to be given to a deputy minister. He mentioned that he needed to answer a phone call from the Australian Prime Minister first and would meet with him this afternoon.

When asked whether the Prime Minister would address this issue in the afternoon, Mr. Anutin said that everything had to be verified. When pressed further on whether the leaked audio clip, allegedly involving the then Deputy Minister of Interior, was relevant, Mr. Anutin stated that he had listened to it and confirmed that it was a conversation between two people, a man and a woman, and that they would have to investigate.
