Bangkok: The Prime Minister and FBI are exchanging information to dismantle transnational networks, escalating the war against scammers. At Government House, Ms. Rachada Thanadirek, Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul welcomed Mr. Kash Patel, Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), on his visit to Thailand. Both sides discussed enhancing cooperation in combating transnational crime, particularly the suppression of scammer gangs, a problem affecting people worldwide.
According to Thai News Agency, during the discussions, the Prime Minister stated that combating transnational crime is a "national agenda" for Thailand, and that Thailand has taken concrete action, seizing assets from criminal networks worth tens of billions of baht. The FBI Director praised Thailand's performance in combating scammers and transnational crime, encompassing drug trafficking, international crime, and human trafficking. He noted that cooperation between the FBI and Thailand, particularly the Royal Thai Police, has been excellent, and both sides agreed to enhance cooperation further, especially in sharing and exchanging information.
Both sides exchanged views and agreed to enhance cooperation on several key issues, as follows: On the law enforcement side, the FBI thanked Thailand for co-hosting the Summit for the Scam Centers in Bangkok on July 20-21, 2026, and commended Thailand as a key law enforcement partner in enhancing regional cooperation in combating online scams. Regarding the suppression of criminal networks, both sides agreed that the goal of the operation is not merely to arrest offenders, but to cooperate between Thailand and the international community to "root out" scammer networks and transnational organized crime completely.
At the end, both sides affirmed their commitment to working together fully and further strengthening cooperation, as transnational crime affects people worldwide and therefore requires strong international cooperation for prevention and suppression.
