He emphasized the need for expedited relief efforts for flood-affected regions and encouraged both public and private sectors to organize events in disaster-stricken provinces to boost the local economy.
According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior presided over the policy presentation ceremony, highlighting that this year’s budget marks an increase of 7.4 billion baht from the previous fiscal year. The 2027 budget aims to implement key policies, address public concerns, and establish national agendas based on the Medium-Term Fiscal Plan from 2027-2030. The government plans to manage the budget deficit to prevent long-term financial burdens and maintain the public debt ratio within a sustainable framework.
The Prime Minister outlined the challenges Thailand will face in 2027, including economic issues, aging society, inequality, and climate change impacts, which necessitate a significant budget for disaster prevention and relief efforts. He stressed the importance of modernizing the public sector using digital systems to enhance efficiency and ensure transparency in budget expenditures.
The government’s policies focus on five key areas: economic recovery, foreign relations, social issues, natural disaster management, and public administration. Measures include stimulating economic growth, pursuing OECD membership, combating scams and crime, developing disaster warning systems, and reforming public administration to become a digital government.
The Prime Minister also highlighted long-term investments in education, healthcare, infrastructure, renewable energy, and digital infrastructure as priorities for laying a solid foundation for the country’s development.
