Bangkok: Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul will participate in the Korat Candle Procession this evening. The city of Korat is bustling with activity as crowds gather at the Ya Mo Monument to witness the candle procession of the 2026 Korat Candle Festival. Among the highlights are candles shaped like "Lisa the Angel" and "Prime Minister Anu."
According to Thai News Agency, the Nakhon Ratchasima Municipality is set to host a candle float display and competition this evening as part of the festival, at the plaza in front of the Thao Suranari Monument. This year's major Buddhist holiday has attracted a large number of candle floats to the monument, including those from Wat Bing. One notable float features a candle depicting an angel alongside a woman in disguise with a face resembling "Lisa-Lalisa Manoban." Another float, crafted by talented sculptors from Phimai District, presents a politically satirical wax figure of "Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul," standing 190 centimeters tall including its base and closely resembling the real person.
The candle representing Prime Minister Anutin also includes a hand-held symbol of the "Thai Help Thai Plus" project, "60-40." These unique and creative candle floats are adding a vibrant touch to the Korat Candle Procession this evening.
