Bangkok: The Prime Minister has affirmed that the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) will not be dissolved, highlighting its importance as a government mechanism. He expressed a desire to personally discuss the matter with Wan Nor, suggesting that Wan Nor might be experiencing internal pressures.
According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul addressed the proposal by Wan Muhammad Nor Matha, the Prime Minister's Advisor, during a meeting on the Fiscal Year 2027 Budget Act. Wan Nor had suggested dissolving ISOC, but the Prime Minister emphasized its role in executing security policies. ISOC is pivotal in coordinating with the military for the protection of the nation and its citizens.
The Prime Minister noted that pressures might be influencing Wan Nor's stance, particularly given his position in the southern border provinces. He stressed ISOC's historical role in upholding national security and mentioned plans to clarify the situation with Wan Nor.
In response to inquiries about the investigation into the assassination attempt on Kamolsak Leewamae, an MP from Narathiwat Province, the Prime Minister stated that the legal process must be followed without interference. He reaffirmed that the government will ensure justice is served in accordance with the law.
